ROCK IS DEAD! Is what many have come to believe in this new generation of popular music; leaving many calling on the way-pavers of past generations for that hit of rock & roll adrenaline. However, your new favorite band may just be hiding out, jamming in a local dive bar, waiting to be discovered. It’s through this subsection that we hope to help you find them. With that, here is our second official Bellworks Band of the Week!
Our second band of the week is a group hailing from Altoona, Pennsylvania, by the name of “Sweet Desire”. Upon hearing these guys for the first time you might think they formed in the late 60’s, early 70’s but they actually just released their first single in 2023! This psychedelic quartet has five songs in total with their latest release being “The Dealer”, which was released on January 10th, 2025.
Their music is refreshing and clean with a funky, upbeat tone. Something you might hear in a movie scene as the hero drives off into the sunset. Their rebellious, freedom rocker style is enough to make anyone listening feel like the coolest person in the room. The way the instrumentals synchronize creates an infectious wave of confidence for the listener to ride out. Their calm but powerful vocals emphasize the band’s sound even further creating a memorable, highly recognizable sound.
The band consists of Jordan McCaulley (singer), Trey Boore (drummer), Josh Simpson (bassist), and Kenton Lewis (guitarist). These four initially founded their band in 2021 and have since reached great heights with their top song “Raspberry Joe Blues” currently nearing 100,000 streams! In 2023 they even stood on stage and opened for the Steve Miller band! Four long haired dudes looking like they took a time machine straight from Woodstock ‘69 laying down jams the way our forefathers intended. To us at Bellworks, that’s about as close to the American dream as you can get, which is why we chose “Sweet Desire” as our second official band of the week!
